Overview
Vent Social ("Vent," "we," "us," or "our") is a location-based social app. This policy applies when you use the Vent mobile app, our support pages, and related services. We do not sell your personal information.
Information you provide
- Account information: email address, user ID, username, display name, profile details, and authentication records.
- User content: posts, captions, comments, messages, photos, videos, community activity, reports, and support submissions.
- Location: precise coordinates attached to map posts or used by a location feature when you choose to allow location access.
- Preferences: notification, map, audience, capture, and other app settings.
Information collected through use
We process device and app information needed to operate Vent, including push notification tokens, session and security data, basic diagnostics, error details, and feature activity. Camera, photo-library, location, and notification access are controlled through your device permissions.
How we use information
We use information to:
- create and secure accounts;
- display posts, maps, media, communities, and messages to the audiences you select;
- provide location, sharing, moderation, reporting, blocking, and notification features;
- investigate abuse, enforce our guidelines, prevent fraud, and protect users;
- troubleshoot, maintain, and improve the service; and
- comply with applicable law and valid legal requests.
When information is shared
Content is shared with other Vent users according to the audience and community settings you choose. We also use service providers for database hosting, authentication, media storage, notifications, maps and tiles, app distribution, and diagnostics. They may process information only to provide those services. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect safety and rights, or in connection with a business transfer.
Retention and deletion
We keep information while your account is active and as needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. You can permanently delete your account in the app under Account → Settings → Delete Account. Account deletion removes your login, profile, app content tied to the account, and uploaded media from active systems, subject to limited legal, security, backup, or fraud-prevention retention.
Your choices
You can change device permissions, notification settings, post audiences, and profile details; report or block users; remove individual content; or delete your account. Privacy and support questions can be submitted from Settings → Support → Report a Bug in the app.
Age requirement
Vent is intended for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has provided information, notify us through the support flow.
Security and changes
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, but no system is completely secure. We may update this policy as Vent changes. Material updates will be reflected by the date shown on this page and, when appropriate, communicated in the app.
